The Back Cover Photo Primary
![]()
You know how it is. You cringe when you see a picture of yourself. I think I am probably the least qualified person on the planet to pick out a picture of myself. I don't have to look at me and I just cringe no matter how good the picture is. You'd think living with a photographer, I'd be blasé about this but you'd be partially wrong. I'm very enamored of the pictures he takes of OTHER people. But you do a book and you have to have an author photo. Having people vote on the book cover worked so well that I've decided to toss my hat into the cyclone we call democracy to choose a photo for the back cover of Nattering on the Sublime. The first round of voting produced two clear favorites: A8 is by George Georgakakos, a Halifax photographer and a good friend; the unnumbered photo is a portrait by Eric. If that's your vote, just say "Eric's". Please be aware that A8 is cut from a contact sheet and is not a final print. there's a speck of dust on the scan on my chin that is not there in real life. Thanks in advance.
