Early into the first figure session with Christine, she was in a comfortable sitting pose on the side of a glacial till. As I pulled further and further back from the pose, I liked the composition more and more, with the background becoming a mass of bare branches. For this session I’d borrowed a 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom lens, thinking it might make an interesting addition to my lens set, and it did prove perfect for this composition. In the end, the photograph was made up of 39 separate frames, all made at the lens’ maximum aperture (f/2.8) which helped separate Christine from her surroundings.
