In some ways, this image was a snap-shot; Monique and Miles had already completed several poses together in the water, formal compositions posed quite deliberately, and were keeping their balance in the water by holding onto each other as I decided what to suggest next. Monique started pulling Miles’ hair back from his face, and I saw the magic occur. I had her repeat the motion several times, and knew I had the image I’d sought.
