Most of the drama in this image comes from the extremely wide angle of view, more than twice as wide as the 12mm lens I was using could see in a single frame. With multi-frame stitching I was able to include the entire base of the tree, while still keeping the image quality high enough to show all the rich details in the moss and leaves.
