I had pretty much ignored the low-tide zones of Burntcoat Head during my previous visits, preferring the stunning lines and forms of the red rocks on the small island near the shoreline. For this session, however, Brianna and I were so stunned by how much shoreline was revealed, we decided to walk out to see what the possibilities were. Initially, I didn’t think this space was practical, as all the rocks were covered with sharp barnacles, but Brianna assured me she could hold the pose if I could work swiftly. Opting to use just the digital SLR, we managed several variations on the theme before calling it quits for the location. The effort was supremely successful, yielding one of my favourite digital images to date.
