In most of the fortifications around Halifax, the original guns have been removed, but in a few cases, the purpose of the forts remain intact. This gun (a Rifled Muzzle Loading cannon) is one of the ones still mounted on the Citadel. Every day at noon, a cannon is fired from the hill, signaling mid-day.
