Towards the end of this session, the weather was changing, with thunderheads forming inland, and the clear blue sky above becoming busy with high clouds. I wanted to use these elements in the image, but was unsure how to bring them together with the figure. Then, on the ridge above us, I spotted some glacial rocks, and knew how to translate it all onto film. The irony is that the rock Claire was on was only a little over a metre high; a low camera angle and wide lens served to distort the proportions into the resulting image.
