The first time I was to worked with Bernice, our plan was to travel out to one of the Boston Harbour Islands, and work there. The plan was less than perfect though, as the ferries did not line-up, and we were stuck on George’s Island for an hour. The island is dominated by the huge Fort Warren, and Bernice asked if I wanted to make some images within the fort while we waited. Initially, I doubted it would be possible, but once we got to work, it turned out to be quite easy. The light levels were low, forcing me to make exposures several second long, but the results were wonderful.
