I have had a long love affair with flare, beginning with an image made in 1997. In this case, with Victoria posed on the edge of a rock, and my back to the sea, it was the choice between having and image with flare (show here) or no image at all, as my left hand, which I could have used to shade the lens, was preventing me from falling back into the ocean.
