Working with a single model over an extended period has a number of advantages, all of which are at the heart of this portrait of Victoria. Her comfort with the camera was there even during our first session five years before, but the entire body of work we’d produced to date lies underneath this image, cementing the trust and connection between myself and the model. Without that past, the image would most certainly look different.
