The beautiful fullness of the child in the womb is a delight to capture on film. Rather than opt for rear rim lighting, which would have emphasized the round swell of the belly, I lit Nancy’s front with a wide, soft light to focus on the fullness of her body. The rim light, placed against her back, helped separate her body from the black surround.
