A little over ten years before I made this image, I created my first photograph of a nude couple kissing; at the time, I worried I had crossed a line that would push my work in a direction I didn’t want to go, but now, more than a decade later, I am thankful for that image laying the groundwork for photograph like this - not a lip to lip kiss, but just as intimate, all the same.
