In Michael Ondatjee’s The English Patient there is a place called “The Cave of the Swimmers” which is crucial to the plot (both in the original book, and the movie); the walls of the cave are covered with symbolic paintings which represent swimmers; all though this session with Kylie I couldn’t help but think about swimming…there was such a sense of motion to the poses.
