I have not worked much with the abandoned fortifications around Halifax for a number of years - a combination of how much of my time is being dedicated to working with models, and how much work I’ve already done with the sites from 1988-1996, That being said, this image is incredibly pleasing to me, both because it is simply aesthetically pleasing and of a subject I have mostly ignored. York Redoubt is unique among the outer harbour defences, in that its 1870 RML gunline is intact, overlooking the harbour entrance.
