The long lenses inherent to the 8"x10” format (the equivalent of a 50mm lens on a 35mm camera is a 300mm lens on an 8"x10”) leads to a very different appearance to images made of close subjects; in this image, the model’s nipple is in sharp focus, and while the rest of the image is totally obvious, it is all progressively softer, an element which I quite enjoy, visually.
