Three years after discovering the spiral stairways at Fort Knox and Popham, I thought I was pretty well versed in the possibilities with these spaces. The stairways in Fort Taber, however, proved otherwise. Constructed within a quadrangle (a room with no square corners), the spiral stairs were almost cubist in look; the warm shades of the granite and the sharp angular corners made for incredibly dynamic images. The only real problem was that all the walls within reach were covered with graffiti - the only images that excluded these eyesores were those made with the camera pointing straight up.
