These images are part of: Nude | Outdoors | Rock

Within easy working distance of my house are some of the most amazing rocky shorelines of Nova Scotia. When I started working with the nude outdoors, these were the places I turned to as backdrops onto which to place the figure. Since 1990 I have been working with the Nude in various outdoor setting, from ruins to beaches to the rock plains which sweep down to the Atlantic Ocean. Though the premise of the Nude in wilderness is a little constructed, I have always found that it comes closest to reflecting what I wish to show. Since 1999, I have also worked on the badlands and hoodoo's of Alberta, the long white beaches of Long Island, New York, and the incredible highlands of Scotland.
The power of the body set against the wonder of nature is something that simply draws me in, the inevitable similarities and differences can bring me back to an image time and time again, trying to discover why it pulls me in. An image is perfect when I cannot answer that question, but continually return to ask it. Though few and far between, the reward of the mystery of these images is more than worth the effort to make them.
