Misc Architecture

I think in some ways, the Ruin draws me because of the tranquility that is an integral part of it. All ruins are symbols of death, and silence is almost compulsory in their environs. This silence draws me like a light on a dark night. The stillness of the Ruin is what captures my eye the most.

The work in this folio is drawn for a number of places; fortifications that didn't fit into any of the sites I have worked with in detail, and which are found elsewhere in the architectural pages, abandoned buildings, and industrial spaces. What they all have in common is the strong graphic qualities to their composition, and the rich textural quality which is the strongest draw to me of abandoned architecture.

More of my architectural work can be found in the Halifax Defence Complex gallery, and the New England Fort gallery.
